ASBCI Annual Industry Conference 2009 - The crude cost of fashion.

DateFriday, May 8, 2009 at 03:12PM

The ASBCI is the only Association to bring together the clothing industry from fibre manufacture through to garment manufacture, distribution, retail and aftercare.

In the past twelve months suppliers across the global fashion industry have faced an all time high in logistics
costs as crude oil prices soared and offshore labour costs increased by as much as 40%. At the same time companies are having to consider their carbon footprint, reduce their lead times and achieve sales in a climate defined by a global economic crisis and a downturn in consumer spend. The ASBCI Annual Industry Conference & Dinner 2009 has assembled speakers from within and outside the fashion and textile sectors, to advise delegates on what to expect in the next 12 months and suggest strategies to tackle the current financial, sourcing, manufacturing, design, distribution, retail and sustainability challenges - while staying competitive!

The conference is taking place on Tuesday 19th May 9.00-4.30pm in Rugby, Warwickshire.
